About Kanlungan

Kanlungan works in several different areas:

Street education with street children and families.
This can range from first aid to counselling.

A drop-in centre and temporary shelter in Malate
Here the children will receive food & shelter, as well as education and skills training and counselling.

A day centre in Tunasan
Here children receive food and daytime education. Most do have families in the slums but are not in school.

A residential care and training centre at Laguna
Here children live in an extended family environment, receive skills training and go to the local schools.

Farm
A place for older boys to learn a skill away from the City. The farm gives training to boys who many other
organisations are unable to help.

After Care
Where children are reunited with their parents and assistance given to make the process as smooth as possible.

Advocacy
Promoting the cause of street children, partly through the excellent Kanlungan children’s choir.
